Public Comments

  1. We stayed at the movie one in Jan of '00. If your traveling with kids, they will love it because all the charactures are there and it makes for some really funny photos.
  2. On my first (and only so far) DW trip we stayed in All Star Movies. And i really enjoyed it. The room was nice ....your not there that much. You pretty much sleep and shower there. All the "cast memebers" are really nice with helping us. The bus rides are an easy way to get to all the parks. The outside decor is awesome. I believe they have two pools..but when we were there one was closed for reconstruction. The only bad thing about all star movies is that i think it was the last place the buses pick up ppl. to go to the parks and go to the airport. But WD is so much fun!! We went in Nov. 2006 and it was beautiful!!! Cant wait to go back! Hope you have fun!!!
  3. All all-star resorts there are shaped the same and have the same food in the food court and the gift shops are identical. The only difference is the decor in the room and lobby and the themes outdoors. The pools are just in different shapes than the other resorts. I stay at All-star Music and I was great. The rooms were cozy to relax in and with us away the whole day at the parks it was well worth the price. Why spend almost 200+ a night when all you need is a shower and a bed? I would prefer however to stay in either the sports, movies, or music because they are right next to each other so you could literally walk to a different hotel if you wanted a change of scenery; pop century is out by itself with nothing near it.
  4. hi, i have stayed in All star movies... the resort was very nice and clean however if you're going for a Value resort i recommend POP century because the resort is the same as far as cool themes, nice food court, clean, lots of pools, etc. However POP is much quicker to get back from the parks than Movies....because POP has it's own bus line. When i stayed at Movies the line was huge b/c u had people from Music, Sports, and Movies all sharing the same bus so it would take a while to stop at the other resorts first to drop off people and Movies was always last. Also, sometimes the bus driver would say we couldnt get on b/c he's just going to Music and Sports, longer wait! POP is the way to go, i am going soon and i'm staying at POP again. Very fun hotel too. Have fun!
  5. I've stayed at All Star Sports and Pop and I liked pop more. Both were fine since I really dont spend my time in the room, but pop is newer, plus I was there the year it was opened. both are motel type of resorts, not a lot of ammenities but well themed and have that great Disney service.
  6. Stay at Pop!!! It is a newer resort and off on its own. And the biggest advantags is Pop has its own bus system, where the other 3 share so the wait is a lot less.
  7. We stay at the All Star Movies resort and we really enjoy it. The rooms are a little on the small side but your not that much anyway long enough to sleep and shower. The pool is really big. The food is good too. We are going again Nov 26 and we will be staying at ASM again. Have fun.
  8. Disney Pop Century is by far the best it is not an all star but is a value resort. Much more spacious then the all star resorts I have stayed in both and the arcade is so much better there as well as the grounds
  9. I would recommend Disney's Pop Century. Wjile it is not an All-Star Resort, it is also in the Value Category (same price) and is much closer to Downtown Disney than the other three properties.
  10. I've stayed at all 3 All-Star resorts, and i'd say my favorite would have to be movies. Its slightly newer than the others and just seems to be kept up a bit nicer than the others. The All-Star resorts are fairly nice, and very close to Animal Kingdom (getting there earlier than other resorts is a plus). The main downside for the All-Star resorts would have to be their bus system. At some parks the All-Star resorts share the same bus-station and therefore it has a much longer line than some other resorts. Pop Century is a newer resort (and also value), which is pretty nice as well. Its a really nice place with great themes and all, but make sure to watch out where you stay at Pop. If they place you back in the 90's area, you're going to have very long walks to the Main building, which is where basically everything is (including the bus stop), and at Disney you honestly don't need any extra walking. If you get a room in one of the closer areas its your best bet for a value resort, but if not, i'd stick to movies. Pop Century isn't the closest to any of the parks, but its closest to the middle as opposed to other resorts so in general your bus rides wont be too long for most parks.
  11. We've stayed in movies and sports. Both were great! I guess it all depends on what you (or your kids, if you have them) like. My parents have stayed in Pop and they liked it, too.
  12. I stayed in movies when I went in 2003 and I liked it alot. The all stars are cheap and nice. I stayed at the Herbie the Love Bug part. I would have preferred 101 Dalmations...but you get what you get. They have pretty decent pools and and arcade/cafeteria thing. I give it 2 thumbs up. Fine family fun =)
  13. They are all great for the money. It all depends on what theme you want! My favorite All Star Resort pool is the Calypso in the music section. All Star Music also received all-new carpeting and room renovation in June of 2006. Pop Century is newer, but it is farther away from everything else. At least by staying at Music, Movies or Sports, you can walk around these connecting resorts and have a wide assortment of swimming pools to choose from! 14. The two best value resorts at Disney are the All-Star Movies and the Pop Century. Both resorts are about the same in terms of what they have to offer. The rooms are on the small side with double beds (they are value resorts after all), a food court with no sit down table service restaurant, huge pool, and decor that is out of this world. It just depends on what you want or like. The All-Star Movies is decorated with 5 classic Disney movies, each wing in a different movie. Pop Century has pop culture icons that everyone knows and loves. The only advantage that Pop Century enjoys is it's own bus line. The All-Stars all share a bus line most of the time, so the bus waits can be a bit longer depending on when you are there. It is not a huge difference, but there is some. Other than that they both are great places to stay, plus you have the VERY smart advantage of staying on property! Hope this helps! If you want some more insight I would check out the disboards. The disboards is a message board website that is all about going to WDW, and the people on the site go often and know what they are talking about. You can get resort reviews, dining reviews, tips for beating the crowds, trip reports, personal tricks for making the most of your time at Disney. Check it out, I put the link below. Have a great trip!
